Challenges/Pain Points

Midea approached us with several key challenges in their production system:

  • Cost reduction and increased efficiency: Their existing filtration system was not meeting the required standards for cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Increased dust holding capacity: The filters were not providing sufficient dust-holding capacity, leading to more frequent replacements and increased operational costs.
  • Reduced filter replacement time: Filter replacement was causing up to one full day of downtime, leading to significant production losses.
  • Lower resistance while enhancing filtration effectiveness: The client wanted to maintain or improve the filtration performance while reducing resistance in the system to improve airflow and overall system efficiency.

Solution & Execution Steps

We provided a comprehensive, customized solution to meet Midea’s needs:

  • New Material Development: After multiple trials and testing by our formulation specialists, we developed a new filter material to replace the existing filter bags, ensuring high efficiency while addressing the need for increased dust holding capacity.
  • Material Modification: We adjusted the pore size, density, and area of the material, which resulted in increased dust holding capacity and an extended service life.
  • Overnight Installation: To minimize downtime, we arranged for overnight installation and filter replacement, ensuring that production was not interrupted during regular working hours.
  • Low-Resistance Second-Stage Filtration: We selected low-resistance materials for the second stage of filtration and applied a layer of fabric manually to further reduce resistance and improve filtration performance.

Client Feedback

Midea expressed high satisfaction with the results:

  • Increased Efficiency & Cost Savings: The new filter material significantly reduced operational costs and enhanced filtration efficiency, with improved dust holding capacity.
  • Reduced Downtime: The overnight replacement allowed for minimal disruption, preventing the loss of one full production day and maintaining operational continuity.
  • Improved Filtration Performance: The low-resistance material and additional fabric layer enhanced filtration effectiveness, ensuring cleaner production conditions and improved product quality.

Overall, Midea was pleased with the solution’s ability to meet their performance, efficiency, and time requirements. The proactive, tailored approach provided by our team was highly appreciated by the client.
